For therapists who want to feel as capable as they actually are

Good at the work, and still second-guessing yourself

You might be the clinician everyone describes as solid, the one whose clients are moving and whose peers trust the work, whose supervisors have told you you're good at this. And somewhere underneath all of that, you're still second-guessing yourself, still leaving sessions wondering if you got it right, still reaching for the technique or the framework instead of trusting what you're already sensing in the room.

Whether you're pre-licensed and still building your footing, or you've been licensed for years and the old self-doubt hasn't loosened with experience, a lot of thoughtful clinicians live here.

Underneath the competence, you're not sure you know what you're doing

You're clinically competent, and imposter syndrome hasn't loosened its grip.
You know the modalities, and you still get to a hard moment in session and reach for the technique instead of responding from yourself.
You're absorbing more than you realized from your caseload, and the burnout is closer than you want to admit.
You can feel your instinct about a client, and you keep overriding it with the textbook answer.
You've been told you're a strong therapist, and you haven't quite been able to take it in.

This is common, especially in the thoughtful, reflective clinicians I tend to work with. It's also workable. Most of what keeps it in place is happening under the surface, which is exactly where it can start to shift.

Start trusting yourself again

Imagine what it would be like to:

Walk into sessions trusting what you're sensing, instead of reaching for the right answer.
Bring the moments that got under your skin to someone who can help you sort them out.
Develop your own authentic flow as a therapist, instead of borrowing someone else's.
Feel your clinical voice getting stronger, and your clients responding to the shift.
Close your week with more energy, because you're not carrying what isn't yours.

The work isn't about collecting more techniques.
It's about becoming more yourself in the room.

Confidence, clarity, and your own clinical voice

Specific challenges we can work on together

Responding in challenging or uncertain moments in session, without freezing or reaching for the script.
Working with emotional reactions, countertransference, and parallel process.
Holding complex presentations, including trauma and suicidality.
Developing a more natural, intuitive therapeutic style.
Bridging the gap between knowing and actually applying what you know.

Get supervision that develops the clinician, not just the caseload

My approach is strengths-based, developmentally minded, and attuned to both the clinical work and the clinician doing it. I'm tracking patterns in what you're bringing in, and I'm also tracking how you're showing up. Often, the thing that's stuck in the clinical work is echoing something in how you're holding yourself.

Supervision with me is collaborative and reflective. You'll leave sessions with something concrete to work with, and you'll also leave having reflected on something about your own process as a clinician. I aim to support and challenge you in ways that move you forward without flattening the parts of you that make you a good therapist in the first place.

The therapists who tend to thrive
in this work

I supervise and consult with MFT associates, LMFTs, and psychologists (pre-licensed and licensed), in alignment with California regulations.

My work is external supervision and consultation only, which means I don't provide employment or client referrals. I support clinicians in developing their skills, confidence, and professional identity inside the work they're already doing.

A psychologist who's spent a decade developing other clinicians

Experienced psychologist. Former Clinical Director. Grounded in the hard cases.

I'm a licensed psychologist with over 11 years of clinical experience. I've held leadership roles including Clinical Director, where I supervised psychology interns, postdoctoral fellows, associate therapists (AMFT and ASW), and licensed clinicians. I've also managed multidisciplinary teams, including group facilitators and recreation therapists, which has given me a strong foundation in clinician development across different levels of experience.

My clinical background includes work in high-acuity settings, which informs how I support clinicians working with complex cases, including trauma and suicidality.

What supervisees say

dr-lauren-leaves-2-white-bg

It is rare to come across a supervisor and clinician who is as authentic, caring, and consistent as Dr. Lauren. My experience of her guidance has been nothing short of empowering; it is clear to me that she values helping others to nurture parts of themselves that truly bring fulfillment. If you are under her care, she is sure to be one of your top cheerleaders and advocates.

Dr. Lauren is an excellent choice for anyone seeking mental health services. She is knowledgeable in the field beyond your average provider and genuinely cares about her clients. Dr. Lauren understands that there is not one approach that fits all and does her best to meet her clients where they are, providing the best help for their presenting problems. I have learned a great deal from her myself and I am a far better clinician due to her guidance.

Patrick Bryant, Previous AMFT supervisee

ZAs a supervisor, Lauren was the backbone of our clinical team. She mentored our therapists with patience, insight, and care, helping them grow into their best selves. She brings exceptional work ethic, sound clinical judgment, and a calm, compassionate presence that grounds a team. I can't recommend her highly enough. If you're lucky enough to work with her as a clinician, you're in excellent hands.
